Area Democrats gather for annual outing in Morris

U.S. Rep. Elizabeth H. Esty and state Attorney General George Jepsen were among those stopping by the town beach in Morris for the annual Bantam Lake Outing.
 
The picnic was sponsored by the Democratic town committees of Morris, Litchfield, Bethlehem, Goshen, Kent, New Milford, Washington and Winchester. Organized by Democratic State Central Committee member Larry Sweeney of Morris, it is held to help kick off the election season and to raise awareness of the importance of the environment in Litchfield County.
 
Democratic State Central Committee member Audrey Blondin was on hand as well as were Kevin DeRoehn, who is running for first selectman in Morris, and his running mate, Selectman Vincent Aiello, Matthew Blasavage of Litchfield, a candidate for first selectman, Litchfield Selectman Diane Knox and Warren Selectman Stephen Warshaw.
