It was Flag Day on Friday and in Litchfield that meant a patriotic salute by students and staff at Center School.
The school marched to the Green to pay tribute to the flag with patriotic songs led by music teacher Cristin Marshall. Principal Lisa Deltano welcomed the crowd of parents, local residents and school officials, and physical education teacher Andy Parker served as master of ceremonies. Parker has taken over the duties performed by his late father, Doug Parker, who was a longtime Litchfield teacher.
First Selectman Leo Paul Jr., Superintendent of Schools Sherri Turner, members of the Board of Education and Father Tucker were among the dignitaries in attendance.
