With the help of a dispatcher at Litchfield County Dispatch, Ian and Kara Parker of Goshen became the proud parents of a baby boy early Thursday.

Kara Parker went into labor at 5:30 a.m. and was preparing for a trip to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital when Wyn Parker decided it was time to make his entrance into the world before hs parents could get to the hospital.

Ian Parker called 911 and reached LCD Dispatcher Matthew Ludwig, who began asking Ian Parker questions. Parker relayed the status of the birth and Ludwig provided cool, calm directions to the father.

One minute after the phone conversation started, Wyn was out and crying normally. Ludwin then instructed Ian Parker on how to tie off the umbilical cord and prepare the 7-pound, 9-ounce Wyn for a trip to the hospital.

Wyn and Kara are doing well and will be home soon. Wyn joins a brother, Wes, who will be 2 in June.
