Keith Cudworth, executive director of the White Memorial Foundation for 21 years, will retire on Aug. 30 after 34 years with the organization.
Cudworth, White Memorial’s superintendent from 1985 to 1998, will turn 65 in May and said he looks forward to pursuing his bicycling hobby and other recreation activities in retirement.
He and his wife, Jane Coughlin, will be moving from their longtime home on Whitehall Road, on foundation property, to another foundation home, on North Shore Road.
“I’m at a point where there are things that I want to do outside of work,” Cudworth said. “I’m in good health and looking forward to doing a lot more bike riding.”
Cudworth authored a book on White Memorial’s history in celebration of the foundation’s 100th anniversary in 2013.
The search for a new executive director is on, according to the president of the foundation’s board of trustees, Arthur Diedrick of Morris.
The plan is to have a new executive director in place before Cudworth retires, according to Diedrick, who said Cudworth has agreed to assist his successor as the new person becomes familiar with the position.
