East Litchfield Chapel restoration is complete
The East Litchfield Chapel has been restored in its 150th year by the East Litchfield Village Improvement Society.
ELVIS held an open house at the chapel on Sunday to showcase the improvements that have been made with $50,000 in private donations and grant from the Seherr-Thoss Foundation, the Greater Litchfield Preservation Trust, the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation and the Connecticut Community Foundation.
The building's windows have been restored, its interior and exterior have been painted, and its electrical system has been replaced. More work will be done as funding permits.
ELVIS plans to use the building for its events and will rent it out to community and private organizations.
