The East Litchfield Volunteer Fire Company firehouse was the place to be for anyone with a big appetite on Saturday morning.
Under the direction of Fire Chief Mark Cattey, firefighters prepared their annual fishermen's breakfast to coincide with the opening day of fishng season. Firefighters were at the firehouse well before dawn cooking scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon and hash browns.
Many fishermen stopped in on their way to local lakes, rivers and streams, and ponds. Local residents who support the fire company came in large numbers a bit later. It all added up to a successful morning for the fire company, according to Cattey.
