A four-day music festival is in the works for the Goshen Fairgrounds over the Columbus Day weekend in 2018.
The festival is being planned by Beth Murphy, president of the Litchfield Hills Road Race organizing committee, renowned singer-songwriter Ian Campbell of Litchfield, and website designer Evan Dobos of Torrington. Several other local residents are investing in the $200,000 venture, according to Murphy.
Murphy presented the plan for the festival to Litchfield's Economic Development Commission last week. The festival, she said, could draw a crowd of up to 3,000 in its first year and provide a boost for local restaurants, hotels and inns, and shops. The hope is for the crowd to eventually grow to 10,000, she said.
The style of music at the festival will be "Americana," Murphy said.
