The Litchfield Housing Authority has reason to celebrate this summer after receiving a high grade for its management of the town's two senior citizen residential communities, Bantam Falls and Wells Run.
A rating of A-plus for management and quality of living came recently from the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority. The rating came after an inspection by the CHFA in May.
LHA Chairman Sandra Becker credited Jim Simoncelli, the executive director of the LHA, and his assistant, Beth Graziani Landau, for the dedication and hard work they've put into enhancing the quality of life at Bantam Falls and Wells Run. She also thanked First Selectman Leo Paul Jr. and the Seherr-Thoss Foundation for their support, as well as the members of the LHA: Bob Miller, Barbara Spring, Ruth Torizzo and Tom McLintock.
"We are blessed to have a wonderful team," Becker said. "The cooperation is a big reason why seniors want to live (at Bantam Falls and Wells Run). It shows what can happen when people pull together."
