Historical society hosts patriotic pet parade

One of the highlights of Independence Day in Litchfield was once again the pet parade held by the Litchfield Historical Society.

Dozens of pets and their owners participated in the contest that was judged by Jerry and Betty Geci, who were assisted by their granddaughter, Celia. Every pet was judged and received a unique award after a procession across West Street to the Green.

Paul Winter of Litchfield and his daughter, Kaiya, who brought her pet rabbit to the parade.

Billy, one of two felines in the parade, is carried by his owner, Kathleen Dumlao of East Haven.

Jerry and Betty Geci judged the participants with help from their granddaughter, Celia Geci.

Suzy Q, a Chihuhua/Papillon mix owned by Debra Sue Klingerman of Goshen.

Participants cross East Street to the Green.
