Former Litchfield Fire Company Chief Jim Koser was inducted into the Connecticut State Firefighters Association Hall of Fame on Thursday.
Koser was one of 11 inductees honored during the association’s hall of fame dinner at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington. State Rep. David T. Wilson, R-Litchfield, presented Koser with a certificate of appreciation from the legislature.
Koser has been a member of the Litchfield Fire Company for 58 years and served as chief from 2000 to 2015. His father, the late George Koser, was fire chief for 24 years.
Nominating Koser for the hall of fame was his successor as fire chief, David Rogers.
In addition to his service with the Litchfield Fire Company, Koser is a past president of the Litchfield County Fire Chiefs Association and has been involved in fire services at the state level with the Connecticut State Firefighters Association and the Connecticut Fire Chiefs Association.
