Four local businesses and their owners were recognized this month by the Litchfield Lions Club for supporting the club’s community service endeavors.
Club President John Bongiorno presented certificates of appreciation to David and Deborah Brenner at The Market in Bantam, John and Jenn Roller at Tavern off the Green, Dave Vigeant and Greg and Denise Raap at the Village Restaurant, and Andy and Brook Stowers at the Litchfield Saltwater Grille.
With the help of the Rollers, the Lions Club held its inaugural corn-hole tournament at Tavern off the Green this summer. Nineteen teams participated and raised more than $1,000 for the Lions Club.
The Stowers extended their generosity to the Possum Queen Foundation by hosting a life-size Monopoly game on Sunday. Three teams participated and $1,500 was raised for the foundation, which donates cash to local families facing major medical expenses.
The Rollers, too, are supporters of the Possum Queen Foundation and helped raise $6,000 for it this summer in winning a benefit golf tournament at Greenwoods Country Club. John and Jenn Roller were part of the winning foursome.
