Local cow handlers earn awards on fair circuit

Below, Betti, left, is with Pandora at the recent Litchfield County 4-H Fair at the Goshen Fairgounds. Pandora was the supreme champion among Jerseys at the fair. Meg Davenport, right, of Litchfield, is with her cow, Selma, grand champion among Ayrshires. Also pictured are Jim and Wendy Kennedy of Falls Village, who donated the supreme champion trophies in memory of Butch Neal of Canaan, a longtime supporter of Litchfield County 4-H Dairy programs.

Betti is attending Monmouth University and majoring in health sciences. Davenport graduated from Nonnewaug High School in June and is attending the University of Connecticut. She is majoring in animal science and agricultural education. Megan is also serving as the 2018-2019 State FFA Vice President.
