Morris firefighters hold training exercise on a hot day
In 90-degree weather Sunday, volunteer firefighters with the Morris Fire Company participated in a training exercise focusing on extrication methods for victims of automobile accidents.
Donated vehicles were used for the exercise. Firefighters had to pry open doors and used special equipment to raise the vehicles so "victims" could be reached. Instructors from the Botsford section of Newtown led the drill. There was also a drill on the operation of fire trucks.
Below, Morris firefighter Beth Ebner operates a pump that was being used to raise a vehicle during the drill.
