New director begins working at Warren Public Library
Louise J. Manteuffel is the new director of the Warren Public Library and is spending her first day on the job Monday.
Manteuffel, who previously was the director of the Hotchkiss Library in Sharon, succeeds Martha Winkel, who retired in June.
“I am very much looking forward to exploring what makes Warren unique among the small towns in Litchfield County and how the library can most effectively support its constituents,” Manteuffel said.
Jane Manley, the chairman of the library board of directors, said Manteuffel is well-suite for the position.
“We knew we had big shoes to fill with the retirement of Martha Winkel, but we feel confident that Louise’s experience and knowledge of the needs of a small town will help the library continue to be a vibrant hub," Manley said.
