The White Memorial Foundation welcomed a new executive director in Peter Punzi recently.
Punzi, who met the public during White Memorial 38th annual Family Nature Day on Saturday, succeeds longtime executive director Keith Cudworth, who retired at the end of August after more than 30 years of service to White Memorial as superintendent and executive director.
Prior to joining White Memorial, Punzi was the executive director of the Tenafly Nature Center in New Jersey. The nature center consists of 400 acres of woodlands and seven miles of trails near the George Washington Bridge.
Punzi’s experience includes working as the executive director of Lakewood Gardens in Lakewood, Wash., working as a self-employed horticulture communicator and consultant, and serving as a professor and program manager of the horticulture technology associates of applied science program at South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, Wash.
Joining Punzi in Litchfield are his wife, Patti, and their son, Nicholas.
