Litchfield High School music students had a visit from Grammy Award-winning musician Paul Winter on Friday in preparation for an upcoming collaboration that will develop a musical score for Litchfield's 300th anniversary celebration in 2019.

Winter, a Litchfield resident for 42 years, is the leader of the Paul Winter Concert and is known for the hauntingly beautiful music he produces with his saxophone. He gave students a summary of his career before playing some music with them to set the stage for return visits to the high school this month and in November. Winter and students will meet in sound play sessions to create the score for the anniversary.

The collaboration is being sponsored by the Litchfield Education Foundation. Foundation members Kathleen Reidy and Scott Anderson were on hand for Winter's vsit.
