Students from Litchfield High School/ Middle School showcased their artistic ability in the 13th annual Talent in Town fundraiser at the Litchfield firehouse on Saturday night.
They sang, played instruments and danced all to raise money for the Litchfield Music Parents, which helps the music program at the high school and middle school thrive under the direction of teachers Peter Perkins and Dan Porri. Proceeds from Talent in Town will be used to purchase new equipment, send students to All-State music festivals, and sponsor performances and clinics in the schools by professional musicians.
"Everything we make goes right to the music program," Litchfield Music Parents President Jill Vermilyea said.
Funding from the LMP helped pay for a student trip to a music camp in Boston this month. The LMP also purchased a new keyboard amplifier that was used at Talent in Town.
A large crowd filled the firehouse hall for the performance. A bountiful food spread was provided by volunteers, Meraki and DiFranco's Restaurant. West Street Barber Shop and Bella Luna gift shop in Morris made donations as did the Palace Theater in Waterbury.
Music teacher Peter Perkins announces the next performer.
