Poppy's Fishing Derby moves north in Goshen
Madeline Blanchard, second from left, was the winner of the Poppy's Fishing Derby in Goshen on Saturday with 11.3 pounds of trout caught. Vincenzo Fasciano, left, was the first-place finisher among boys with 2.5 pounds. Runners up were, right, Harrison Watley and Noraa Lavoie.
The fishing derby, founded 27 years ago by the late Richard (Poppy) Kobylenski, Goshen's first selectman from 1969 to 1991, was held at the town's new property on East Street North. The event sponsored by the Recreation Department had been held on town property on East Street South. It was moved to give the public a chance to experience the new property.
