Emergency vehicles and equipment from across Western Connecticut converged on Morris on Monday to give local emergency management personnel a chance to see the kind of assets available to them.

The vehicles and equipment were stationed in the parking lot at the James Morris School prior to the Litchfield County Fire Chiefs Association monthly meeting at Morris Town Hall.

The assets are available to towns and cities in the state Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security's Region 5, which encompasses Litchfield County and northern Fairfield County. On display were search and rescue vehicles, hazardous materials response vehicles, rescue boats, dive team trailers and other specialized equipment.
