The Wright choice for top teacher in Region 6

Elementary school health and wellness and talented and gifted teacher Alisa Wright has been selected teacher of the year in Region 6 for 2018.
 
Wright, a teacher in Region 6 for 17 years, was named the winner during a gathering of the district’s teachers Wednesday at Wamogo Regional High School.
 
The announcement was made by Superintendent of Schools Edward Drapp, who praised Wright for her positive demeanor and professionalism. Wright was recommended to Drapp by a panel of teachers that reviewed nominations for the award.
 
Attending the announcement were Wright’s husband, Tim, and their son, Sean, and, daughter, Andi. In remarks to her colleagues, Wright credited the collaborative environment in Region 6 schools for making it a joy to teach there.
 
The district’s health and wellness guru, Wright is well-known for promoting the benefits of exercise and healthy nutrition. She is the founder of the community edible garden programs at the elementary schools.
