Elijah Berano is the latest Boy Scout from Troop 29 in Bantam to ascend to the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Scouting.
Berano, of Litchfield, was recognized during an Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony at St. Anthony of Padua Church on Friday. His Eagle Scout project consisted of building four benches in the Steep Rock Association's Macricostas Preserve in Washington, Conn.
Litchfield Selectman Jon Torrant was on hand to recognize Berano on behalf of the town and on behalf of state Rep. David T. Wilson, who could not be there.
Berano graduated from The Gunnery in Washington and will attend Bentley College.
