A gaudy collection of color brightened the Litchfield firehouse hall on Saturday night during the inaugural ugly sweater contest benefiting the Possum Queen Foundation.
Hideous sweaters and other clothing were worn by about 40 locals who turned out for an evening of fun organized by Jay Bolton and Matt Terzian. The event raised $550 for the Possum Queen Foundation, which distributes money to local residents facing large and uncovered medical costs. The money has been raised over the years by the Possum Queen Contest on New Year's Day.
Possum Queen Contest founders and judges Billy Neller and Brent Hawkins were on hand for the party.
