Supporters of the Possum Queen Foundation played a version of Monopoly on Saturday to raise money for the organization.
The foundation, whose signature event is the Possum Queen Contest on New Year's Day, assists local residents facing medical hardships. About $2,000 was expected to be raised.
Local sports celebrities and Possum Queen Contest founders Billy Neller and Brent Hawkins served as masters of ceremonies. Three teams of about 10 participants each competed in the game held on the lawn behind the Litchfield Saltwater Grille.
"It was our chance to thank people who have been very supportive of the Possum Queen Foundation and to have some fun," Neller said.
Team Murphy outdueled Team Brakeman and Team Power Analysis to win the competition. Representatives of the three teams have been instrumental in the success of the Possum Queen Foundation.
