A big weekend for Litchfield Track Club athletes

Members of the Litchfield Track Club were all over the state last weekend competing in road races and track and field.

The Sharon Classic 5-mile race on Saturday morning had Brandon LeClair placing third overall in 28:17, followed by Sami Glass, the first female finisher, in 30:21.

Brynn Bergin won the girls 14 and under division in 38:32, and Michaela Breakell started her two-day racing with a 77th place finish.

Mary Anne Fontaine took second place in the 60-69 division and Jen Bergin was 145th. More than 230 runners took part.

On Sunday, the Girls Just Wanna Run 5k had Breakell running 10th overall and placing first in the 40-49 division. Lilly Markavich ran second in the U9 division in 27:21 and was 23rd overall.

Also on Sunday, two youth members of the LTC competed in the Central Connecticut Jaguars Invitational in Bloomfield. Sean Clinkscales (15-16) took second place in the 1500 meters and 800 meters while Robin Wright (15-16) copped gold in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles.
