Behind Mitchell, Wamogo girls knock off Litchfield

A career night for Paige Mitchell led Wamogo's girls to a 30-23 win over Litchfield on Friday.
Mitchell scored 16 points and keyed a second-half rally that put the Warriors in control of a bruising contest that saw players hitting the floor all night. Justine Lago added seven points and Lexi Weik six as Wamogo impoved to 5-13.
The game was tied at 15 after an entertaining first half, but Litchfield went scoreless in the third quarter as Wamogo went up 22-15. Litchfield fought back in the fourth quarter but was unable to get closer than six points as Wamogo held on.
Molly Lennon led 2-15 Litchfield with seven points. It was the final home game for seniors Rachel Leigh, Samantha Brodeur and Anna Conaghan. The seniors and their parents were honored before the game.
