Not much was settled Friday night in the Berkshire League boys soccer showdown between unbeatens Litchfield and Lewis Mills other than the fact that the contest under the lights in Burlington reinforced just how good each team is.
The rivals played to a 1-1 tie in overtime. Mills scored in the first half and Litchfield answered in the second half on a penalty kick by Charlie Shanks. Shanks' goal came after a Mills' infraction in the box.
Coleby Bunnell was outstanding in the net for the Cowboys, who were making their final visit to Mills. The Spartans move to the Central Connecticut Conference next year.
The contest featured outstanding play at both ends of the field as each team demonstrated an ability to possess the ball and stop each other from putting the ball into the net.
