The 42nd annual Goshen Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning saw an out-of-state runner capture first place, a female set a course record, and 451 runners cross the finish line in making room for their Thanksgiving dinners.

Benjamin Hall came from Flagstaff, Ariz., to win the 6.2-mile race in a time of 35:50. Chris Deforest of Terryville was second in 35:53 after keeping pace with Hall the entire way.

Third place went to Annmarie Tuxbury of New Hartford, who set a women’s course record of 36:20. Defending champion Brandon Leclair of Goshen was fourth in 38:13, Samantha Glass of Goshen was ninth in 40:37, and the ageless Jim Zoldy, 57, of Goshen, was 10th in 40:48.

Other top local runners were Chad Dickinson of Morris (11th in 41:11), Sherri Odell of Litchfield (14th in 41:38), and Marc Dalke of Litchfield (15th in 41:45).
