The home opener on Monday was not a kind one for the Litchfield baseball team as it dug itself a deep hole early and never recovered. Shepaug struck for six runs in the first inning and cruised to a 10-0 victory over the Cowboys, who fell to 0-2. The game ended after five innings due to the Berkshire League's new 10-run rule.
Second baseman Aidan Donahue was too late with the tag to catch a Shepaug runner.
