Lake association takes to the road to raise money

The Bantam Lake Association’s annual Beach to Beach race was held Saturday as a fundraiser for the welfare of the lake.
Ninety-one runners and walkers finished the 3.1-mile race that started and finished at the Morris Town Beach. BLPA members Kayla Germano, Connie Trolle and Ann Murdica organized the race and were assisted by several of the organization’s members.
Money raised will be used to help fund the BLPA’s effort to control the growth of invasive weeds and algae in the lake.
Eric Ciocca, 41, of Northampton, Mass., won the race in a time of 20:26. Larissa Giordano, 42, of Southington, was the first female finisher with her fourth-place time of 22:39.
Luke Lacilla, 11, of Litchfield, was second in 21:52 and his father, Kevin, was third in 22:20.
