Litchfield Athletic Hall of Fame welcomes new inductees

It was a memorable night at the Litchfield Community Center on Friday as the Litchfield Sports Booster Club inducted a new class into the Litchfield Athletic Hall of Fame.
Entering atthletic immortality were Rachael (Johnson) Dennis, Brittany (Blazek) O'Neill, Danielle O'Dell, Carrie Moura, Tim Deacon, Alex Hula and Matt Hula. Dennis and Blazek graduated in 2003, O'Dell in 1995, Moura in 1994, Matt Hula in 2005, and Alex Hula and Deacon in 2008.
Dennis joins her grandfather, Tony Knox, in the hall of fame, O'Neill joins her brother, Chris Blazek, in the hall, and O'Dell made it an O'Dell hall of fame quartet by joining her father, Tom O'Dell, brother, Andy O'Dell, and uncle, Ray O'Dell.
The ceremony also honored the late Bill Dranginis, a founder and member of the hall of fame and a longtime swim coach at Litchfield High, the Litchfield High boys state championship basketball teams of 1925, 1936, 1959 and 1965, and the boys state championship soccer team of 1963.
