One game is all it took for Litchfield to show how much it has improved on the softball field.

The Cowgirls played Terryville tough in a 4-3 loss at Plumb Hill Playing Fields on Monday. Freshman pitcher Mackenzie Schweter was impressive in holding down the Terryville offense. Schweter gives Litchfield its first strong pitcher in several seasons.

Anna Conaghan, the team's catcher, drove in a run for the Cowgirls.
