Litchfield Track Club runners beat the wind and rain

Litchfield Track Club runners survived 30 mph wind gusts and muddy conditions at the Region I Junior Olympic Cross-Country Championships at Sunken Meadow State Park on Long Island, N.Y. Sunday.
One LTC age-group team and five individual runners qualified to compete in the National USATF Junior Olympic Cross-Country Championships in Madison, Wis., in December.
The LTC’s girls' 8-and-under team put on a dominating performance placing in second overall, four points behind winner Ocean Breeze of Staten Island, N.Y. They were led by the first-place performance of Laila Goodman, who was eighth in the national championships last year in Reno, Nev.
