LTC runner Glass runs strong in New Haven Road Race

Sami Glass of Goshen set the pace for the Litchfield Track Club at the New Haven Road Race on Monday.

Glass finished the race's 20K (12.4 miles) in 1:21.04, good for 96th place overall, 26th among women, and 15th in the women's 20-29 division.

The Belles brorhers, Ian, Evan and Aaron, also ran in New Haven. Ian Belles was 124th in the 5K in 20:33, Evan Belles was 32nd in the children's run in 3:39 and Aaron Belles was 92nd in the children's run in 4:16.

Former Litchfield High School track and field standout Peter Lesser ran the 20K and finished 145th in 1:27.51. He was 10th in the men's 50-54 age group. Lesser was a top hurdler for Litchfield High in the early 1980s and teamed with Winston Hudson and Steve Barnes to set a 300-meter hurdles record at the O'Grady Relays.
