A respite from the winter cold and a snow-free track at Plumb Hill Playing Fields allowed Litchfield High to host the Berkshire League Indoor/Outdoor Frostbite Festival on Saturday.
Litchfield was joined by Terryville, Thomaston and Northwestern in the meet that gave athletes a chance to qualify for the Class S indoor meet in March.
For Litchfield, Annabelle Shanks was second in the 55 meters in 8.1 seconds and first in the 300 meters in 47.1 seconds and only missed qualifying for the state meet by 1/10th of a second; Caelan Erickson was second in the 600 meters in 2:22.8; and Riley Majeskie was third in the 600 meters in 3:53.6.
