The Tri-Town Trojans and the Litchfield Cowboys, Litchfield’s two entries in the Tri-State League, have completed outstanding regular seasons and await the start of the league’s playoffs.
The Trojans finished 16-2 and tied for first place with the Terryville Black Sox, while Cowboys were 14-4 and tied for second place with Blasius Chevrolet. Both teams earned byes in the first round of the playoffs.
In their final game of the regular season on Saturday, the Cowboys edged the Naugatuck Dogs, 7-6. It was a back and forth game that saw Steve Consiglio pitch 5-plus innings to pick up the win and Dan Hedden record a save. Big contributors were Joshh Guilmart with two hits and two RBI, and Drew Gauvain and Tommy Johnson each with two hits and an RBI.
