Litchfield and Wamogo tangle at Plumb Hill track

The Litchfield High and Wamogo track and field teams squared off against each other and Housatonic and Gilbert in a meet at Plumb Hill Playing Fields on Thursday.
 
In the girls competition, Litchfield lost to Wamogo and Housatonic to fall to 0-6, while Wamogo stood 1-4 after the win over Litchfield and losses to Housatonic and Gilbert.
 
For Wamogo, Meg Salmon won the 3200 meters and Emily Kupcho was first in javelin. For Litchfield, Molly Andrulis won the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, Amber Marino was first in the 400 meters, Sarah Beres won the pole vault, and the 4x100 relay team of Landrie Spellman, Rachel Leigh, Aileen Lennon and Allie Generalli captured first place.
 
The boys meet saw Litchfield defeat Wamogo and Housatonic in improving to 2-4. Wamogo also lost to Gilbert but defeated Housatonic to improve to 1-4.
 
Individual winners for Litchfield were Antonio Muratori in the 300 hurdles and 1600 meters, Caleb Canfield in the 110 hurdles, and Jonathan Dieck in high jump. Muratori and Dieck teamed with Mateo Tiul and Austin Marino to win the 4x400 relay.
 
For Wamogo, Riley Brady won the long jump and triple jump and Nick Damiani won the shot put. Wamogo’s team of Brian Fisher, Tyler Giggey, Zach Kelly and Krystan Wnorowski won the 4x800 relay and Paul Marceski, Marcos Lopez, Alex Johnson and Wnorowski won the 4x100 relay.
