Litchfield swimmers place second in BL meet

Litchfield High’s swim team had a banner day Saturday as it finished second in the Berkshire League championship meet in Plainville.
Litchfield tallied 515 points to trail only Northwestern (720 points) in the meet. Wamogo was fourth with 206 points.
Dan O’Leary won the 100 backstroke and was second in the 200 individual medley relay for Litchfield. Litchfield’s team of Sarah McCarthy, Caroline Donovan, Kenyon Prenoveau and Claire Vaillionis finished fifth in the 200 free relay in a BL girls record of 1:44.97.
John Donnelly was second in the 50 freestyle and teamed with Carson Mello, Colin Torrence and Antonio Muratori to finish second in the 200 free relay. Donnelly added a third-place finish in the 100 freestyle and combined with McCarthy, O’Leary and Muratori to finish second in the 400 free relay. Aidan O’Connor was second in the 100 breaststroke and Hurtado was third in diving.
